Learning how to draw an elephant – cute and simple, like the one you see above… is easy to do. And of course – here – I’d like to show you just how much! In working through this lesson, note the ‘extras’ I’ve added along the way. There’s no reason why you can’t change the look of yours.
Maybe yours plays football/soccer!?!? (how ever you refer to it as!)
Let’s get a move on!
First Step – A Simple Structure for a Simple Cartoon
Much like many other lessons here on the site, a couple circles along with the appropriate ‘markings’ will help you to maintain proportion as you draw. It’s a wonderful thing really — as you get to focus more so on details.
Here it is…
Feel free to alter the structure of yours. Any thoughts? How about: shorter legs, longer tail, bigger ears, shorter trunk… OK. Good ideas!
To the drawing board!
Second Step – How to Draw an Elephant
In this lesson, I’ve injected my own unique style into the process. You can easily get a sense for this style over time, drawing various lesson on the site. Never forget though – NEVER FORGET!!!… it’s really important to develop your own unique style along the way.
Mirroring success is good – using what you learn to develop your own unique style is gold.
OK here goes…
Whoa! It’s blue! Yes – this little creature takes on a cute-yet-sad look… something that just sort of ‘came to me’ in the process of creating this lesson.
Well – not much more to add. There’s another cartoon animal that you’re now equipped to draw! 🙂
